Serious players don't use MSN...

I avoid any messenger service type chat (MSN messenger, Yahoo, etc...).

Why?
1) She’ll stop emailing you.
2) You are at the whim of her being online.

Let’s look a little closer:

#1 People are lazy. Most of the time, you can count on them taking the easiest path available. For her, once she has added you to her massive Messenger list, she has an excuse not to put in the time and effort to craft another email to you. It’s easier just to wait until she sees you online again and she can chat with you then.

#2 Once you’ve moved to a chat/Messenger based relationship with her, you can’t chat with her unless you are both online. This means that you’ve got to be online waiting for her to be online in order to have any contact with her. This definitely doesn’t work for you, because you will be out dating. Since you will be out having a life, and she is hopefully cool enough to have a life as well, it’s difficult to actually meet up online. Many potential relationships have fizzled out this way. The beauty of staying with email is that you can write at the whim of your schedule, and she can do the same.

If you must switch to MSN tell her this:
“Look, I try to not be a guy who sits at home on his computer the whole time, so if you want to MSN with me, tell me exactly when you’ll be online and I’ll try and make it.”

If you are bound and determined to do it, follow these steps:
1) Be playful, get her attention by teasing her
2) Be interested
3) Ask questions
4) Relate your experiences to her answers
5) Tease her a little more
6) Ask her new questions about her old answers
7) Mirror her True Image whenever possible
8) Be playful (it is both first and last on this list on purpose)

Repeat until she is asking you questions back. Once she starts asking you about yourself, you know you've got her interested and are starting to build some attraction.

Have fun with your holiday dating!

PS: A holiday online dating tip! Switch your main photo to one of you wearing a Santa hat! It's great bait this time of year.
